Hoban Lady Knights slow down Aurora’s Shyanne Sellers in sectional playoff Victory

Despite a slow start and an early third-quarter deficit, and early foul trouble by their star player. third-seeded Archbishop Hoban eventually overcame their obstacles to beat Aurora.

Junior power forward Lanae Riley scored just six points in the first half but finished with a game-high 27, “My mindset was to come out and play hard like it’s our last game” said Riley.

When Riley scored her first points of the third quarter, she drew a foul on Sellers, and moments later, Sellers was called for an offensive foul. In a matter of a minute, Sellers had drawn her third and fourth fouls, effectively putting her in danger of fouling out early in the second half.

“We can underestimate anybody we have to come out and be ready to blowout anyone out whether they have someone like Shyanne Sellers or not”
