All the while facing a team they had never seen before, and it showed early. 5-foot-10 Lamar Sperling carried the ball 24 times for 135 yards and scored three touchdowns to lead the Hoban offensive attack.

Jayvian Crable replacing four-year starter Shane Hamm completed seven of 11 passes for 107 yards, which included a 31-yard touchdown pass to Shawn Parnell for Hoban’s first score.

“Jay did a great job, he really did,” Hoban coach Tim Tyrrell said. “He stepped up and made a great throw to Shawn for the touchdown.”
